Kodak

Site Redesign

Upon visit to the original Kodak website, there was a lack of focus. The company is attempting to branch off into a separate identity from its commonly noted position as a purely camera or photography company. In an attempt to alert the consumer of printing as their new place in the market, they have bombarded the visitor with too much information. With an endless maze of tabs that lead to other tabs, the visitor can’t truly see the abilities of Kodak, and is instead turned off to use of the service based on confusion.

Kodak’s printing services are extremely helpful and efficient for the small business user. Site design was focused on those consumers. Instead of leading another goose chase that would only send them away from our site, we wanted to showcase real products and real people who use the services to inform the consumer of Kodak’s abilities.

Our home page immediately shows the visitor products printed with labels printed by the company. This doesn’t just “tell” the consumer what the company does, it shows them. The images used also act as inspiration for the consumer to take their ideas further.

Throughout the site, the visitor is reminded of the value of their creativity to a printing job, and that Kodak is there to put the final touches on the great things a small business owner already has in their capacity. Featuring videos of customers that use the service also assist in giving a personal and more approachable focus to utilizing services.

It’s not just a label –it’s someone’s concentrated creativity.

With a page that also features products previously created by Kodak customers, visitors can save and revisit inspiration for their own creations.

With a focus specifically on small business, our site allows for less distraction, and more usability. In reidentifying themselves from their previous photography past, Kodak can build and keep a loyal customer base that knows they are working with a company that values their creativity. Without the consumer’s business, Kodak would have none. Highlighting these effort is what will make sure Kodak printing is made relevant, useful and memorable for those who would utilize it’s service.
